Campaigners plan rally to support appeal against Dartmoor wild camping verdict |

Campaigners say they plan to hold a peaceful rally outside Dartmoor National Park headquarters during Friday’s authority meeting.
Dartmoor Wild Camping Action Group said it believes the authority will be discussing an appeal against the court ruling in the case brought by landowner Alexander Darwall

Experts issue five-point guidance for using phones for hill navigation |

Almost nine out of 10 hillgoers now use mobile phones or GPS units to help them navigate, according to a survey.
Mountaineering Scotland asked 4,000 people if they used these devices when on the hills, and whether they had experienced problems with them

Wild camping on Dartmoor will continue after agreement reached with landowners |

Dartmoor National Park Authority said people will continue to be able to wild camp in certain areas, after it reached an agreement with landowners’ representatives.
Outdoor enthusiasts wishing to camp on the moors will need to refer to an interactive map and follow ‘leave no trace’ principles

Damian Hall and Jack Scott have finished the Montane Spine Race together, but Hall took the title because Scott was penalised for a navigational error earlier in the event.
The two men touched the wall of the Border Hotel in Kirk Yetholm, but a time penalty for leaving the official route pushed Scott down to runner-up position
